Mengantuk

Sejuk.
Mengantuk.

"Can I have your car registration number?'
"Is it on the cert of regist?"
"Yes"
"I couldnt see any registration number.  There is customer number.... plate number...."
"Registration number is the PLATE number"
"Oh...hehehehhehehehehehheheheheh" *sengeh kambing*
"The plate number please"
"AI..."
"Sorry, cant hear you"
"A for apple. I for errrrrr, I for errrrr. IIIIIIIIIIIII...." *dalam hati: apekebenda mula dengan I?...IKAN?*

Royanan version 82

Disclaimer: ini entry royanan. Sila jangan baca. keke

1. Saya berasa berpuas hati bila berjaya siapkan labwork sebelum pegi conference. Tetiba saya teringat yang saya lupa amik gambo cacing yang belum matang. Encik bos cakap eloklah amik gambo demi kevoguean tesis nanti. Skarang dah kena repeat balik sampel-sampel tertentu. *sigh*.
To my horror semalam repeat balik sampel....dan.....jumpa pulak spesis C. Ini memang misteri nusantara! I hope encik bos tak suruh saya repeat semua lagi 20 sampel sebab saya dah stress. Kalau kena repeat jugak, I will burn my tiket to Malaysia and will only go home on the 10th. "Predict the unpredicted,"pesan encik Bos sebagai pedoman di eksperimen yang akan datang. Yeah, right.

2. Fanclub Jay punya nama.. Seriously APEKAH yang sangat APEKAH!!!!

i - JayEffect = camo dia pilih nama ni? JayEffect adalah suatu fenomena, camno nak jadikan nama fanclub??? Cuba bayangkan kalau fangirls nak introduce diri : Hello, I'm a JayEffect. Very the tak sedap.

Apekah Jay??? Apekah? I know apa yang dia maksudkan adalah wanita-wanita anggun yang sentiasa berjalan seiring dengan dia, tapi seriously I will never vote for this. I rather vote for JayStalkers! keke.

iii - Beyond the top = Ni lagi satu, taulah nama BTT ni nama fanclub Jay sebelum debut (sentimental value gituh), tapi cukuplah SUJU dengan fanclub nama ELF (ever lasting friendship). I dont want any more fanclub with long names!

Compared to other choices, ni lah yang agak masuk akal. Kenapa Bee? Sebab masa lepas Jay withdraw dari 2pm fans takleh bukak thread untuk dia kat Daum Cafe Gallery. So, basically Jay was considered nobody and there was no place for his stories to be discussed.
Lantak koranglah fanboys, toksah nak segan-segan segala. A bee can sting you know!

I VOTE FOR BUMBLEBEE BECAUSE I WANT TO CALL HIM HONEY!!!! <3>
But sigh, based on the votes, ramai meroyan vote for JayEffect and JayWalker. Apekah?????

Edit: Err, boleh tak korang tolong? vote Bumblebee kalau rajin. Hancur luluh hati ni tau bila tengok nama tapahapa mendahului.

Thank you!!

Assertive communication

1. Think before you speak. The first step is to be clear within yourself as to what you want to say.

2. Communicate your needs without excuses or disclaimers at the beginning, such as “well, this may not really be important” or “I may be making a big deal out of nothing”.

3. Speak clearly and concisely. Remember “less is more”. When we keep on talking we often start to make excuses, contradict ourselves and give others lots of ammunition for arguing us out of our opinion if they want.

4. Say what you mean. Avoid hinting and “beating around the bush”. Others cannot read your mind. You need to ask for what you want. If you have a sore back and want a back rub, ask for it. Simply complaining about having a sore back may not achieve your goal of getting a back rub.

5. Speak in a firm and calm voice.

6. Describe how you see the current situation and how you would like it to be different.

7. Express your feelings without judgment or justification. Your feelings are always valid whether others agree with them or not. They simply need to be expressed in an appropriate and respectful manner.

8. Own your opinion, feelings and wants by using “I” statements. Avoid using “you” and “we”. Other may feel like you are talking for them or accusing them, such as “You made me angry”.

9. Maintain direct eye contact. This does not mean staring. It is okay to glance away. When you look at people as you are talking with them, they know you are confident about what you are saying and that it is important.

10. When you are first assertive it can be challenging to come up with how to say something assertively The wording is unfamiliar. Below are some statements that you might use. This is certainly not an exhaustive list, but simply some options to help start you off: I don’t want to…, I feel uncomfortable about…, I have an issue I want to talk to you about, I don’t appreciate that…, I see it differently, I have a problem with that, it is important to me, in my opinion…, no, thank you, yes, I do mind, I think we should discuss this, when are you available to talk about this?

New anthelminthics. Malaysia, are we ready?

In order for one anthelmintic (anti-helmintic drug) to be claimed effective in controlling helminths, the positive effect should be more than 95%. In other words, worm eggs should be reduced by more than 95% after treatments applied.
The first anthelmintic resistant in small ruminants of Malaysia was reported in the 60's, involving the white drench (Benzimidazoles). *Mind you, I'm talking about the resistance of worm in these small ruminants, not the resistance of small ruminants to the drugs.* Later on, resistance was reported towards more groups and during my survey for my masters study, it was found that the government owned farm had animals harbouring resistant worms to ALL THE MAJOR ANTHELMINTIC GROUPS. Worse, they have a programme called 'pawah' where new farmers were given animals to start farming. Yes, they were given animals with resistant worms and this helped in spreading the resistant worms throughout the country.
No, its not the government's fault. Not at all. We never think that this would happen. We thought proper scheduled anthelmintic treatment will kill all the worms and the animals will be worm-free and live happily ever after. We didnt know that underdosing, overdosing the animals during drenching or frequent drenching will effect the natural population of the worms.
Apparently in natural conditions we have resistant worms in small number and these worms were originally susceptible worms, but adapted to the exposure of anthelmintics. When we wipe all the susceptible worms, the remaining resistant worms will be dominant. This is what happened in Malaysia. It was too late when we discover anthelminthic resistance. The resistance level was high, and their populations are high too. In 2005, as far as I remember there was no single farm that still had worm populations susceptible to all 4 anthelmintics tested. In all the farms, the worms showed resistance to at least one anthelmintic. So, at least one drugs cannot be used on each farms as it wont give any significant effect in reducing the worm numbers.
Because of this, farmers were advised to improve their farm managements and encouraged to try other alternatives such as feeding the animals with potential herbal plants such as cassava (Manihot esculenta) and neem (Azadirachta indica) leaves because we are sure that no new anthelmintic will be released soon.
To my surprise, 2 new anthelmintics were recently introduced to the market. What do you expect from this new anthelmintics? For me, I do hope that parasitologist in Malaysia will take a quick action to guide the farmers on using the anthelmintics in a responsible manner. Before the farmers get to know about these drugs by themselves and shove the drugs to their animals, thinking this will solve the resistance problem. The farmers need to be consulted, need to be guided.
The researchers in Australia claimed that resistance to these drugs will occur in 40 years time, but I will just give 10 years for resistance to occur in our beloved country. Or maybe less. Resistance will occur rapidly, especially in our region where blood sucking worm infection is an issue throughout the year. Our climate is like the heaven on earth for them - warm, moist, humid. And because of that, management become more difficult, infections become more severe and normally leads to death.
And to avoid this to happen, farmers rely heavily on drugs and will quickly treat any funny-looking animals without doing any proper diagnosis. Who wants to take the risk of losing their moneyanimals, right?
But the thing is, in our beloved country, in my humble point of view based on my personal experience, we dont have enough labours to do all this consultation to farmers. Yes, we do have veterinary assistant and veterinary attendants. But anthemintic management is a bit tedious, and based on my little experience, even vets didt get the idea right. What do you expect from others?

Things to consider
1. Need to know the worms on the property resistance to what drug(s)? Test should be conducted to test the resistance. Worm egg counts and larval differentials before treatment given and after 10 days treatment applied.
2. Based on the information, identify which drugs still can be used on the worms.
3. The new drugs should be applied together with other drugs with different mode of action. The new drug should not be applied alone as this will lead to resistance.
4. Worm egg count and larval diff should be done before each treatment application. Selective treatment should be applied, not blanket treatment.

And with limited number of staffs in vet service, and most vets are assigned to do all management works, leaving vet assistants and attendants to do most of the customer related job, do you think that we can manage worm resistance? I doubt it.

Seriously, this is not my PhD topic. I should stop ranting. keke.

I am the coldest

"I'm sorry, I was teasing you. Don't take it seriously" ujar Encik Prarom. Terpancar riak muka gelabah manja tak boleh blah.
"Heh?!" Cik Miinah terpinga-pinga.
"You look stressed" kata Encik Prarom lagi.
"It's not about you. It's about them!I hate them" balas Cik Miinah sambil menjuihkan bibir ke arah persembahan sekumpulan lelaki lembut dengan cekak besi yang sedang mempersembahkan tarian ketiak di kaca televisyen.
"Really? There is a boyband that you dont like? Thats weird" Encik Prarom cuba memahamkan situasi.
"Once a fan but now an anti. And will forever be an anti"
"Oh, this is too complicated. I will never understand" Encik Prarom sudah menyerah kalah.
"Yes, trust me. You don't want to know."

Woo Young's vocal cord nodule.
Junsu's plastic surgery knee injury.
Chansung's enteritis.

Seriously????

I bet after this:

Taec is going to military.
Khun is pregnant.
And who's the last member? I cant even remember.

Abaikan entry ni. Ayang, sila jangan abaikan.
